Cheers and Jeers for May 31

Cheers: Cheers to the Drewitz School of Dance for the outstanding Spotlight on the Stars recital on Saturday. You can tell the young people worked really hard to be ready.

Cheers to Judy Pratt for the work she has put into Creighton Lodge as co-manager. She’s been a big part of the improvements at the lodge in the past nine years.

Cheers to all of our miners in southeast Saskatchewan for the work they do and impact they have on the community. Hopefully coal mining will continue to be part of this area for years to come.

Cheers to the Estevan Kinettes Club for organizing the Walk to Make Cystic Fibrosis History. Keep working; one day there will be a cure.

Cheers to the entertaining concert at St. Paul’s United Church on Sunday featuring Carnduff’s Leah Macfarlane. She is a very talented young pianist.

Jeers:

Jeers to the motorists who are speeding on Petterson Drive. It’s been a real issue since last year when traffic was detoured from King Street. The police need to step up enforcement.

Jeers to those who insist on posting on social media even though they don’t have their facts straight. A little fact-checking would go a long ways.

Jeers to the person who dropped a cat off near a rural residence. The cat was fed, but hasn’t been seen since the property owner’s dogs scared it away.
