Cheers and Jeers for May 4

Cheers: Cheers to Westview School. Many students, teachers parents and other helpers put on the play Blast of Pirates. It was most entertaining. Cheers to whoever did an awesome job cleaning up the off-leash park at the Woodlawn Regional Park.

Cheers to whoever did an awesome job cleaning up the off-leash park at the Woodlawn Regional Park. A lot of people’s dogs love the wide open spaces.

Cheers to the city for cleaning the streets so promptly. It really improves the appearance of Estevan.

Cheers to Hillcrest School for the great job the students did with the writing showcase. It’s always great to see young people embracing writing at a young age.

Cheers to everyone who was involved with the Women of Today Awards. Hard to believe the event has been around for 20 years.

Jeers:

Jeers to the semi-trailer unit driver who tried to manoeuvre a transport truck into a wide open space behind Canadian Tire. It took three attempts. Obviously no training and a dangerous situation.

Jeers to whoever posted misleading information about the future of the weight room inside the Estevan Leisure Centre. Please post accurate facts.

Jeers to those who attempted controlled burns during dry and windy conditions. Yes, the burns need to be done, but please wait until the weather is more favourable, so the fire department doesn’t get called out.

Jeers to the return of unnecessarily loud motorcycles and vehicles on our streets. The drivers sure know how to ruin a nice evening.

Jeers to people who don’t seem interested in controlling their barking dogs, especially in the middle of the night.
