Cheers and Jeers for Nov. 15

Cheers to the Royal Canadian Legion’s Estevan branch for organizing the Remembrance Day service for Estevan, and to all the schools and organizations that held Remembrance Day ceremonies in the southeast.

Cheers to the Royal Canadian Legion’s Estevan branch for organizing the Remembrance Day service for Estevan, and to all the schools and organizations that held Remembrance Day ceremonies in the southeast.

Cheers to the Macoun School Kindergarten, Grade 1 and Grade 2 students for the beautiful paintings of Flanders Field that were donated and hung in the lab waiting room at St. Joseph’s Hospital.

Cheers to Capt. Craig Bird and everyone else who is involved with the Southeast Military Museum. It’s well worth dropping by the legion to take a look.

Cheers to Alameda’s Jayden Davis for the incredible goal he scored last weekend, and to the Estevan Bruins for sharing that goal so that Jayden can receive international recognition.

Cheers to everybody who was involved with bringing midget AAA hockey to Estevan for next season. The Estevan Bears will be a great addition to the community.

Cheers to the City of Estevan for the latest concert announcement. It should be a great night with Gord Bamford and Saskatchewan’s own Jess Moskaluke.

Jeers to the people that complain about the use of leaf blowers for snow. They work best with small amounts of snow and are no worse for the environment or noisier then a snow blower.

Jeers to people who allow their block heater chords to cross the sidewalk, creating a serious trip hazard for pedestrians. These chords can be very difficult to see in the dark.

Jeers to those people who seem incapable of incoherent and logical debate, and prefer to insult those who disagree with them.
