Cheers and Jeers for Nov. 16

Cheers to all those who participated in the Remembrance Day service organized by the Estevan branch of the Royal Canadian Legion, and to those who went the extra mile in supporting veterans this year.

Cheers to the Bells of Peace service that was held on Remembrance Day. It was so nice to hear the bells ring at sunset.

Cheers to the City of Estevan’s parks department for doing a great job of landscaping along Arthur Avenue across from St. Mary’s School.

Cheers to Estevan Area Home Care and public health for providing the flu shot to people who are unable to attend flu clinics.

Cheers to the Estevan Minor Hockey Association for hosting the initiation jamboree. The kids had a great time.

Jeers to people who didn’t shovel their sidewalks following the snow last week. Were you waiting for the temperatures to warm up and the snow to melt away?

Jeers to the motorist who blasted through the intersection of Fifth Street and Souris Avenue South on Wednesday night with a pedestrian in the middle of the intersection.

Jeers to the Saskatchewan Roughrider fans griping about Sunday’s playoff loss to Winnipeg. Could it be the better team won?

Jeers to some of the icy conditions that we’ve seen some mornings this month. It would have been nice to have the sanding trucks out and about.
