Cheers and Jeers for Nov. 2

Cheers: Cheers to the Estevan Fire Rescue Service and the community as a whole for doing such a great job of hosting the Saskatchewan Volunteer Firefighters Association’s fall training school.

Cheers:

Cheers to the Estevan Fire Rescue Service and the community as a whole for doing such a great job of hosting the Saskatchewan Volunteer Firefighters Association’s fall training school.

Cheers to everybody who supported the United Way Estevan’s telethon, allowing that organization to support so many others in the community.

Cheers to all of the different businesses and organizations that hosted events in honour of Halloween. Lots of kids had so much fun.

Cheers to the City of Estevan for bringing John Mellencamp to Estevan. We need the city to keep bringing in great entertainment.

Cheers to the students at Spruce Ridge School for the entertaining Thriller show that was performed on Halloween.

Jeers:

Jeers to motorists who don’t signal until the moment they reach the intersection. It’s really aggravating at four-way stops.

Jeers to those who speed through school zones and playground zones. It’s particularly dangerous on schools with narrow streets.

Jeers to those who are responsible for fraudulent phone calls. It’s unfortunate that somebody will be taken in by them, and these calls create a distrust of charitable organizations.

Jeers to U.S. customs officials for turning away Canadians who have used marijuana at some point in the past.

Jeers to motorists who insist on obstructing the sidewalk when they park their vehicles. Leave the sidewalk for pedestrians, and go park somewhere else.
