Cheers and Jeers for Nov. 22

Cheers: Cheers to everybody who was involved with the St. Joseph’s Hospital Foundation’s Festival of Trees activities. It was a fantastic weekend with all sorts of events that appealed to people of all ages.

Cheers to everybody who was involved with the St. Joseph’s Hospital Foundation’s Festival of Trees activities. It was a fantastic weekend with all sorts of events that appealed to people of all ages. And the money raised went to such a great cause.

Cheers to the Estevan Kinettes Club for hosting a great craft carnival. There was lots to choose from, and it was a great way to start – and finish – your Christmas shopping.

Cheers to the two Estevan atom female hockey teams for the great job they did representing the community at a recent tournament in North Dakota.

Cheers to the Estevan Arts Council for bringing in Smilin’ Rylan to perform as part of the Koncerts for Kids series. You know it was a great show when you see the kids up dancing the whole time.

Cheers to the Saskatchewan Roughriders on a great season. It didn’t end the way we wanted, but they have a great team and a bright future.

Jeers:

Jeers to a local service station that feels like they need to raise gas prices when nobody else does.

Jeers to the city for considering moving forward with a third arena for Estevan. Perhaps they should look at paying down the debt first.

Jeers to the motorists who were a little too aggressive during and after the snow storm that hit the Estevan area on Wednesday. If you were sliding through interesections, you were being too aggressive.

Jeers to drivers who pass on the double solid yellow line. It’s not hard to figure out that when you see two solid yellow lines, you have to wait to pass.
