Cheers and Jeers for Oct. 12

Cheers and congratulations to Lyle Dukart, the Estevan Royal Canadian Legion branch and all involved in the design and completion of the Wall of Honour located at the Royal Heights Veterans Memorial Park.

Cheers and congratulations to Lyle Dukart, the Estevan Royal Canadian Legion branch and all involved in the design and completion of the Wall of Honour located at the Royal Heights Veterans Memorial Park.

Cheers to the arrival of new physicians into the community. Hopefully we’ll be able to retain these doctors and the others we have in the city.

Cheers to all of the firefighters in southeast Saskatchewan for responding to calls on a moment’s notice, and keeping us all safe.

Cheers to those who invited extra people to their Thanksgiving dinners during the long weekend, so that more people could have a place to enjoy a good meal.

Cheers to the Estevan Family Resource Centre for taking on the organization of Savour the Southeast. It’s still a great community event that people want to see continue.

Jeers to relentlessly enforcing the 60 kilometre per hour speed limit north of Estevan on Highway 47, as most people think it is a highway.

Jeers to the number of penalties at Saturday’s junior hockey game between Estevan and Humboldt. It seemed like the officials were intent on stealing the show in front of a large crowd.

Jeers to those who insist on refusing to use their signal lights before they turn. Please think of the other motorists on the road. If your signal light is burned out, use hand signals.

Jeers to those who absolutely have to park in front of a school when they drop off their children. Is it really so hard if they have to walk half a block to school?

Jeers to those who are rejoicing at the early arrival of winter. There are still farmers out in the fields, trying to complete their harvests. When they’re finished, then you can cheer the snow.
