Cheers:

Cheers to the Prairie Winds Motorcycle Club for organizing this year’s Ride for Ronald McDonald House. It might have been the biggest crowd they’ve ever had.

Cheers to St. Giles Anglican Church for all that they have done for the community over the past 100 years.

Cheers to the Estevan Humane Society for offering the Duck Derby for the community, even if the wind and the river flow didn’t co-operate.

Cheers to everyone in the Estevan area who supported the Children’s Hospital Foundation of Saskatchewan, and ensured that this much-needed facility would be built.

Cheers to Aaron Turnbull and Austin Daae for doing such a good job of representing the Estevan Motor Speedway at a couple of big race programs in the U.S.

Jeers:

Jeers to the City of Estevan for not opening the Estevan Leisure Centre gym and running track earlier on weekends. They should be open at 6 a.m.

Jeers to people who insist on not using a signal light, or who insist on waiting for the last possible moment to activate their signal light.

Jeers to motorists who drive through puddles at a high rate of speed, splashing water onto pedestrians and onto other people’s properties. In some cases, it can cause minor flooding in buildings.

Jeers to people who still haven’t realized that school is back in session, and are speeding through school zones. This includes those who travel more than 30 kilometres per hour on the Comp. access road.
