Cheers and Jeers for Sept. 7

Cheers to the organizers of all the different rodeo activities in Estevan during the Labour Day long weekend. It’s great to have so many events in Estevan for families to enjoy. Cheers to having the BMX Jam at the Estevan Skate Park.

Cheers to having the BMX Jam at the Estevan Skate Park. Hopefully it encourages a few more young people to be involved with the sport.

Cheers to the schools that had activities for students prior to the start of the school year, including the back-to-school barbecues.

Cheers to the outdoor movie night organized by the Southern Plains Co-op. It was a fun way to wrap up the summer.

Cheers to the St. Joseph’s Hospital Foundation for bringing in some local entertainment for this year’s Festival of Trees.

Jeers to those residents who park their cars, trucks, industrial vehicles, recreational vehicles and campers on their lawns.

Jeers to those who don’t stop when the stop arms are extended for school buses. It puts children at risk of being struck by a vehicle.

Jeers to people who don’t yield the right-of-way at intersections on 13th. Just because there isn’t a painted crosswalk doesn’t mean you don’t have to stop for pedestrians.

Jeers to those who complained about the detours that were set up during the Estevan Parade. They were up for an hour. Deal with it and find an alternate route.

Jeers to whoever thought it was reasonable to send the Trans Mountain Pipeline Expansion consultation process back to the drawing board.
