Mini golf twist

Often times you can add a whole new level of fun or interest to an activity that you may do often, by just twisting it a bit.

Often times you can add a whole new level of fun or interest to an activity that you may do often, by just twisting it a bit.

It really doesn’t take a lot of money, time or preparation to give a twist to an activity; it just takes a little creativity. One thing I love about writing this column week in and week out is that it forces me to think creatively about all the things we love to do.

We’re in the season of golf and miniature golf, and so I thought it would be fun to throw a little twist into a mini golf game. To do this, we’re going to come up with a task card that has to be completed on each hole.

1. Texas Scramble: For this hole, you will each putt and then proceed to putt from the location of the ball closest to the hole. So if player 2 lands closest to the hole on the first shot, each player will bring their ball to that place to putt for the next shot.

2. Cue It Up: Putt each shot by using your putter as a pool cue and shooting it that way.

3. Through the Legs: Each putt will need to be made by placing a foot on either side of the ball and then hitting the ball from between your legs.

4. No Club: On this hole, you cannot use your putter. You will have to roll the golf by “bowling” it.

5. No Eyes: You may get in position and line up your shot, but before you putt you need to close your eyes and keep them closed.

6. Knees: Complete this hole by putting from your knees.

7. Curling: Before you can put your ball in the hole you have to “hit” at least one other person’s ball.

8. Opposite: If you’re right handed, shoot left. Left handed, shoot right.

9. Modern Dance: You will shoot until your ball is in the hole and your entire round has to be a fluid modern dance.

Happy putting!
