Tenth Victor Elias Memorial Shoot for a Cure Invitational basketball tournament started on Friday at the Estevan Comprehensive School. Estevan Elecs and Lumsden Angels participated in the ceremony. The previous years' tournaments beneficiaries or their relatives were invited to come out to participate in the event. And after pink balloons were let go in memory of those whose lives were affected by cancer, the game began. Elecs came out strong, winning the game 97-79. The games, as well as fundraising activities, continue today. All proceeds will go to Bill Mann. Next week’s editions of Estevan Mercury and Southeast Lifestyles will have more on the tournament.
