The Power Dodge Estevan Bruins held on to beat the Melfort Mustangs 4-3 to bring their road record to .500 for the trip through the Sherwood Division.

The Bruins (15-17-1) went up 4-2 in the second period and Bruins goaltender Grant Boldt performed well in the third to keep the Mustangs (20-8-1) to a lone third period goal.

TJ Irey, Michael McChesney, Johnny Witzke and Turner Ripplinger scored for the Bruins, who went 2-for-5 on the power play. Bryce Platt picked up a pair of assists.

Boldt made 26 saves on the night.

While the Bruins will come home for Sunday morning’s Santa’s Breakfast With the Bruins at 9 a.m., they won’t play at home for some time yet as the Home Hardware Canada Cup will be at Affinity Place.

The Bruins play at Yorkton Tuesday in their next league action.
