The Power Dodge Estevan Bruins were shut out 2-0 by the Notre Dame Hounds on Friday night in Wilcox.

After a scoreless first period, Marshall Wilton scored what proved to be the game-winning goal nine minutes into the second period to give the Hounds (17-16-2-4) a 1-0 lead over the Bruins (18-20-2-1). Jakob Breault’s goal midway through the third period doubled the Hounds advantage.

Grant Boldt stopped 29 shots in the loss.

Riley Kohonick made 33 saves for the Hounds. Former Bruin netminder Matt Lukacs, who was acquired by the Hounds from Estevan for future considerations on Thursday prior to the national junior A trade deadline, served as Kohonick’s backup.

The two teams will meet again Saturday night at Affinity Place.
