The Power Dodge Estevan Bruins did everything they could but couldn’t put the puck in the net in a disappointing 1-0 road loss to the Flin Flon Bombers.

The Bruins (14-17-1) surrendered a second period goal to the Bombers (17-8-0-2) Tyler Higgins, a defenceman playing his first game with the team since getting released by the Saint John Sea Dogs of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League. They couldn’t score a goal on 31 shots on Flin Flon’s Pierce Diamond.

Equally good was the Bruins’ Grant Boldt, who stopped 28 of 29 shots between the pipes. But it was the second time on this road trip that the Bruins were shut out.

The Bruins play their last game of this four game road trip – and their last road game of the season further away than Yorkton – when they head to Melfort for a game Saturday night.
