The Power Dodge Estevan Bruins had another strong effort Tuesday night in a 3-1 victory over the Notre Dame Hounds in Wilcox.

Marshall Wilton opened the scoring for the Hounds 2:01 into the first period, but that would be the only time the Hounds would beat Bruin goaltender Kadin Kilpatrick on the night.

Will Koop tied the game with a power play goal six minutes later.

TJ Irey’s goal for the Bruins six minutes into the second period proved to be the game-winner, and Bryce Platt added the insurance marker at the 8:38 mark of the third.

Kilpatrick stopped 20 shots for the win, as the Bruins outshot the Hounds 39-21.

Riley Kohonick was in goal for Notre Dame.

Estevan (28-21-2-1) sits at 59 points with six games to play. They have an eight-point lead over the Yorkton Terriers for top spot in the Viterra Division; Yorkton has two games in hand.

The Bruins will return to the ice Friday night at the Flin Flon Bombers. Game time is at 7:30 p.m. at Affinity Place.
