The Estevan Bruins had goals from nine different players in a dominant 9-1 victory over the host Yorkton Terriers Tuesday night.

Yorkton actually opened the scoring, when Kaeden Taphorn scored 35 seconds into the game. But it would be the only offence the Terriers would generate, as the Bruins held the Terriers high-octane offence in check.

Defenceman Alex Von Sprecken, who is from Estevan, scored his first Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League (SJHL) goal 48 seconds after Taphorn’s marker to tie the game.

Ten minutes later, Tylor Ludwar scored to give the Bruins a 2-1 lead, and then Tyson Manz and Troy Hamilton had goals less than a minute apart before the period was finished for a 4-1 advantage.

Griffin Asham-Moroz and Cody Davis scored in the opening 3 1/2 minutes of the second to bump the lead up to 6-1, and Dain Sardelli tallied before the end of the frame for a 7-1 advantage.

Tanner Manz and Brady Nicholas scored less than a minute apart in the first six minutes of the third to finish the scoring.

Keenan Rancier made 26 saves for the Bruins, who outshot Yorkton 44-27.

The win extended the Bruins (17-17-2-1) winning streak to four games, and added to their lead for the eighth and final playoff spot in the SJHL. They lead the Kindersley Klippers and the Notre Dame Hounds by three points, and have games in hand on both teams.

The Bruins will return to the ice Friday night when they host the Melville Millionaires at 7:30 p.m.
