The Estevan Bruins dropped their two preseason games in North Dakota on the weekend.

The first was an 11-3 loss at the Minot Minotauros Friday night. Devon Cyr, Tyler Savage and Jayden Davis had the goals for Estevan.

The game against the Bismarck Bobcats on Saturday night was much closer, as Estevan dropped a 5-4 overtime decision. Eddie Gallagher scored twice for the Bruins, while CJ Corrazin and Devan Harrison also scored. The Bobcats scored the winner with nine seconds to play in overtime.

Keenan Rancier made 43 saves in goal for the Bruins.

Both the Minotauros and the Bobcats play in the North American Hockey League. They traditionally begin preparing for the season several weeks before the Bruins.

The Bruins will now shift their attention to the upcoming regular season, which begins Friday night when they visit the Weyburn Red Wings.

Estevan’s home opener is Sept. 17 against the Yorkton Terriers.
