The Power Dodge Estevan Bruins made a donation to KidSport Estevan before Saturday night's game against the Kindersley Klippers.
The Bruins presented a cheque for $2,640.75 to the Kidsport committee. The money was raised through the goals the Bruins scored in the 2017-18 regular season.
For every home team goal scored during the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League regular season, $20 is donated to KidSport, with a maximum of 1,000 goals. Mid-City Plumbing & Heating is donating $5 for each Bruins home goal all season. To date the Bruins have contributed more than $10,000 to their local KidSport chapter through this program.
KidSport assists children of families facing financial obstacles to participate in community sport programs. Participation in sports gives kids the opportunity to learn vital life skills such as teamwork and responsibility; and, it builds the confidence and character kids need for success in every aspect of their future.
