The Power Dodge Estevan Bruins scored five times in the second period en route to a 7-3 victory over the visiting Flin Flon Bombers on Sunday night at Affinity Place.

After a scoreless first period, Matthew Chekay scored a short-handed goal 64 seconds into the middle frame to give the Bruins a 1-0 lead. Goberis tallied three minutes later to double the advantage. But Flin Flon came back to tie the game, thanks to power play goals by Nick Shumlanski and Ben Lanfermann that were 88 seconds apart midway through the stanza.

Hayden Guilderson scored 1:18 after Lanfermann's goal to restore the Bruins lead, and then the Bruins took over. Jake Fletcher scored with 2:52 to play in the period, and Goberis added his second of the game 79 seconds later to give the Black and Gold a 5-2 lead through two.

Kaelan Holt padded the lead with a goal 2:08 into the third. Nate Hooper scored with less than seven minutes to play to pull the Bombers to within three, but Goberis finished the hat trick with three minutes left.

Matt Lukacs stopped 24 shots for the win.

The win was the fourth straight for the Bruins, who now have a 10-2-1 record.

They will host the Nipawin Hawks on Friday night, starting at 7:30 p.m.
