Bruins snap slump with win over Ice Wolves

The Power Dodge Estevan Bruins ended a four-game losing streak on Wednesday night with a 4-1 victory over the host La Ronge Ice Wolves. Isaiah Thomas gave the Bruins a 1-0 lead with a goal 10:30 into the first period.

The Power Dodge Estevan Bruins ended a four-game losing streak on Wednesday night with a 4-1 victory over the host La Ronge Ice Wolves.

Isaiah Thomas gave the Bruins a 1-0 lead with a goal 10:30 into the first period. La Ronge tied the game early in the second when Jake Gudjonson scored, but Eddie Gallagher restored the Bruins lead a few minutes later.

The game remained close until late in the third, when Michael McChesney and Turner Ripplinger tallied 1:39 apart to clinch the victory.

Grant Boldt made 33 saves to get the win in net for Estevan. Daniel Davidson took the loss in goal for the Ice Wolves despite making 50 saves.

The Bruins (14-16-0-1) will continue their road trip with a game Friday night at the Flin Flon Bombers.
