For the second consecutive night, about 40 shots were fired at a road opponent of the Power Dodge Estevan Bruins but once again the opposing goaltender stopped a whole bunch of them, leading to another Bruins loss.
Wedneday, the Flin Flon Bombers won 4-2 at the Whitney Forum on the strength of Jacob Delorme making 39 saves.
Michael McChesney and Austin King-Cunningham scored for the Bruins, but Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League leading scorer Brandson Hein’s goal for Flin Flon with 1:42 in the third period crushed hopes for a comeback.
Grant Boldt, making his fourth start in a row in the Bruins net, made 32 saves in the game.
The Bruins are in the middle of a Sherwood Division road trip and have lost two in a row. They will battle the La Ronge Ice Wolves Friday and will conclude the road trip Saturday night in Melfort.
