Midget AA Bruins now 9-0

The Estevan Apex midget AA Bruins improved their record to 9-0 with two more victories in league play. The first win was 3-1 over the Regina Vics on Nov. 2.

The first win was 3-1 over the Regina Vics on Nov. 2. Tanner Stovin scored twice in the third period, including the short-handed game winner five minutes into the frame. Kaden Chrest also scored that night.

Jackson Miller made 23 saves for the victory.

The following day, Estevan routed the Regina Capitals 8-2, their second convincing victory over the Capitals in eight days.

Cale Adams and Adrien Riddell scored for Estevan in the first period, and then the Bruins pulled away with five goals in the second. Kieran Stewart scored twice for Estevan in that period, while James Mann, Tayce Miller and Chase Gedak also scored.

Kolby Kaban had Estevan’s goal in the third.

Logan Nagel made nine saves in the victory.

The Estevan TS&M bantam AA Bruins had a loss and a tie in their most recent games.

Their first game was a 21-2 loss to the North East Wolfpack on Nov. 2 at Affinity Place. Jordan Marcotte and Declyn Henderson had Estevan’s goals.

Keagan Carley and Ty Fehrenbach split the goaltending duties for Estevan.

The bantam AAs returned to the ice three nights later, and played the South Division-leading Weyburn Wings to a 1-1 tie. Zack McGillicky scored for Estevan with 3:29 to play in the second period to open the scoring. It remained an Estevan lead until just over seven minutes remained and Weyburn scored.

Carley made 55 saves in the victory.

The Estevan Meter peewee AA Bruins played their first league game since early October when they dropped an 8-3 decision to the Weyburn Wings on Nov. 1.

Gunner Moore and Blake Andrist scored for Estevan in the first period, and Drayton Morrissette tallied for Estevan in the second. At that time, it was a 4-3 game at that point, but Weyburn scored twice more before the second period was up and added two more in the third.
