Midget AA Goldwings win showdown with the Rebels

The South East Aaron Well Servicing female midget AA Goldwings won twice on the weekend, including a showdown with the Regina Rebels, their biggest rivals in the Saskatchewan Female Hockey League.

The South East Aaron Well Servicing female midget AA Goldwings won twice on the weekend, including a showdown with the Regina Rebels, their biggest rivals in the Saskatchewan Female Hockey League.

The Goldwings started the weekend with a 3-0 win against Prince Albert Foxes. Jaycee McLellan, Marci LeBlanc and McKenna Walls scored, and Kara Zelyck earned the shutout in goal.

Sunday’s game was against the Rebels, and the Goldwings came out with a 5-4 victory. Goals were scored by Walls, Jenna Currie, Kendra Kotylak, Dalis Prawdzik and Khloe Bedore.

Zelyck was in net for the win.

Both games were played at the Harry O Memorial Arena in Midale.

After the weekend, the Goldwings have 33 points, thanks to a 16-1-1 record, and stay in first place in both the South Division and the overall standings.

Next weekend they have a doubleheader against Swift Current. Games will be Jan. 18 at 7:30 p.m. and Jan. 19 at 2 p.m. in Midale.
