The new Estevan Eclipse Downhole Solutions U18 AAA Bears hockey club has announced how they will manage ticket sales for their regular season games to start the season.

The Bears are slated to play their first-ever regular season home game on Sunday against the Swift Current Legionnaires. And they have 15 home games scheduled for this season.

“As we near our home opener for our inaugural season, we would like to reach out to our fans, billets, season ticket holders and corporate sponsors,” the Bears said in a statement on their Facebook page. “Due to the restrictions that are in place from the Saskatchewan Hockey Association and the Saskatchewan Health Authority, we are capped at a maximum capacity of 150 guests, which includes our game day volunteers.”

The Bears said they are disappointed with this decision but with these restrictions in mind, they have decided to implement the following changes.

For season ticket holders, they will be contacted shortly with the following options as they are unable to honour season tickets while maintaining SHA guidelines:

  • Reimbursement;
  • Defer season tickets until next year;
  • Use season ticket value to purchase a square on their game board; or
  • Leave the season ticket as a donation – if attendance capacity is increased, then your attendance at games would be free.

Game day tickets will be re-evaluated on a game-by-game basis.

“If there are tickets available to the public, they will be limited and we will be announcing them two days prior to each game. We will be making the announcements via Facebook, and tickets will be available on a first come first serve basis by reservation through direct messaging the Estevan Bears page.”

Tickets will be available for $10 per seat, with a maximum of two tickets per person.

“We would like to thank all of our supporters who have helped us bring exciting U18 AAA hockey to the city of Estevan. We look forward to a time when we can fill the stands and hear the roar of our fans cheering on the boys. In the meantime, we will be active on social media to keep you up to date and will be providing streaming links to all of our games.”
