Carson Birnie, who hails from Arcola, stole the puck from a Regina defender in the offensive zone and then beat the Regina goalie with a quick shot late in the first period.
Birnie played much of his developmental hockey in Estevan. He was selected by the Estevan Bruins with their first pick in the 2020 Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League Draft, and was picked in the eighth round by the Red Deer Rebels in the 2020 Western Hockey League Draft.
The Pat Canadians led 3-1 after the first period and went on to win 9-1.
