Local golfers impress at Maple Leaf Junior Tour event

Several local golfers put in an impressive showing in the first tournament of the year for the Maple Leaf Junior Tour in Saskatchewan. The competition was held June 27 and 28 at the Elmwood Golf and Country Club in Swift Current.

Several local golfers put in an impressive showing in the first tournament of the year for the Maple Leaf Junior Tour in Saskatchewan.

The competition was held June 27 and 28 at the Elmwood Golf and Country Club in Swift Current.

In the junior boys division, Chase Gedak of Estevan finished second with a two-round total of 146, thanks to a 76 in the first round and a 70 in the second. Jayden Dudas of Estevan was third with a 148 (77-71).

Josh Nagy of Saskatoon won the junior division with a 145 (70-75).

Two other local products were entered in junior boys. Hudson Chernoff of Estevan was 13th with a 165 (85-80) while Logan Chernoff was 16th with a 173 (85-88).

Also, in the peewee boys division, Jayden Chernoff finished fourth with a two-round total of 180 (85-95). He was five strokes behind the winner, Jack Maharaj of Saskatoon.

In juvenile boys, Ryan Chernoff was 13th with a two-round total of 166 (84-82).
