The Apex Bruins refused to say die today at Affinity Place and won 5-2 over Swift Current to force another playoff game in the South Saskatchewan Minor Hockey League’s midget AA division.
Down 2-1 in the first round, best-of-five series and down 2-0 early in the second period, Joey Meredith scored two for the Bruins, the tying and eventual game winning goal, and Daymon Wanner, Zach Ashworth and Jaiden Gervais, into an empty net, scored the others. The win means the Bruins make at least one more road trip this season.
Bryson Garton stopped 19 for the Bruins.
Game 5 is scheduled for Tuesday in Swift Current.
