Motocross returns to Estevan

The South Corner Racing Circuit made its first of two stops at the Trackside Motocross Association’s facility southeast of Estevan on Saturday. Dozens of riders entered in the different classes.

The South Corner Racing Circuit made its first of two stops at the Trackside Motocross Association’s facility southeast of Estevan on Saturday.

Dozens of riders entered in the different classes. A practice round was held in the morning, and the features happened in the afternoon.

In the C class, Dylan Honig was first. Among the locals, Roark Franke was sixth, Cordell Fiest was eighth and Dylan Moore was 10th.

Gage Tyhy was the winner of the B event. Cole Barnstable was fourth, Ronald Himmelspeck was seventh, Blair Fonstad was 10th and Cain Kruger came in 11th.

In the A event, William Merrett was the winner. Kayden Hjorteland was the top local rider in fourth place, followed by JJ Barnstable (fifth), Connor Barnstable (sixth), Bryce Friess (seventh) and Cole Hagel (eighth).

Honig was also first in the super-mini division, and Royce Milford topped the 50 CC class. In 65cc, Boston Beauchesue was first, Brooks Milford was fourth, Deegan Lemaine was fifth, Caden Fonstad was ninth and Dierks Milford was 11th.

Ryder Zackrisson was first in the 85cc. Caden Fonstad came in 12th.

Travis King won the two-stroke division, and Randy Franke was third.

In the women’s division, Lauren Pahlmann was the winner and Kaitlyn Alexander was third.

Locals had a strong showing in the veteran class, with Bryce Friess in first, Randy Franke second, Blair Fonstad third and Cordell Fiest in ninth.

As for the youth class, Travis King was first, JJ Barnstable third, Kayden Hjorteland fourth, Cole Hagel sixth, Cole Barnstable 13th and Cain Kruger 14th.

The SCRC boasts seven stops in four communities each year. It will return to Estevan for its final race on Sept. 28.
