Sharks getting busy for playoffs in National Championship league

This past month has been a busy one for all of the Estevan Sharks that have joined the Prairie League within the National Championship League.

Last weekend, another round of play in Regina, where players from across Manitoba and Saskatchewan came together for this 14U league. During this weekend of play the Prairie Team boys, which consists of 11 Estevan Sharks, and the Prairie Team girls, which consists of six Estevan Sharks, have now secured their spot in the Western Canada Finals which will be held in Edmonton on May 4-6.  
The Prairie girls team holds top honors going into Western Finals with a 10-2 record and the Prairie boys team is also in top spot going into Western Finals with a 8-3 record. The Prairie boys do have one more game to complete this series but based on their current standings they will remain in top spot going into the finals.
The Saskitas, consisting of the younger players from Regina, Estevan and Weyburn, won their two games against the Team Manitoba but lost against the Armada and Prairie team. There has been a lot of improvement from this team of young girls and they have a bright future in water polo ahead of them.
As part of the 19U Women’s team local player Taeghen Hack travelled to Surrey, BC this past weekend. The girls lost to Pacific Storm 12-9, won against the Calgary Renegades 19-8 where Taeghen was able to score four goals. Their next game they lost to Fraser Valley 6-13 and then won against Edmonton Tsunami.  Their next game found them against Fraser Valley where they lost 8-9 and Taeghen scored one goal. The next day they won against the Calgary Renegades 19-5 and Taeghen found the back of the net for five goals. Then they lost to Edmonton Tsunami where Taeghen scored two goals but they ended the weekend with a big win against the Calgary Renegades 14-6.  
The next round of play for the Prairie League will be this weekend where the Saskitas travel to Winnipeg to take on Team Manitoba.
