South East Goldwings pick up dominant wins

The South East Aaron Well Servicing midget AA Goldwings closed out the pre-Christmas portion of their schedule with a pair of convincing wins in league play at the Harry O Memorial Arena in Midale.

The South East Aaron Well Servicing midget AA Goldwings closed out the pre-Christmas portion of their schedule with a pair of convincing wins in league play at the Harry O Memorial Arena in Midale.

The Goldwings faced the North West Sharks Friday night and won 7-0. Captain Marci LeBlanc scored the Goldwings first two goals in the opening frame, and in the second period there was a fury of goals with four different scorers: Alyssa Ohrt, Ally Park, Kierra Pittman and Dalis Prawzdik.  

Kendra Kotylak added one more goal in the third.

Kara Zelyk shut the door in net with 28 saves for the shutout.

The following night, the Goldwings blanked the Western Prairie Aces 9-0. McKenna Walls and Kotylak each scored twice, and Pittman, Ohrt, Prawdzik, LeBlanc and Khloe Bedore also scored.

Zelyck has her second shutout in as many nights. 

The Goldwings (12-1-1) will return to the ice on Jan. 4 and 5, 2020, when they have a northern road trip.
