The Estevan Wildcats faced the Bienfait Bulldogs Saturday afternoon at the Estevan Strippers Molson Spring Bust tournament.

Affinity Place, the Power Dodge Ice Centre and the Bienfait Memorial Arena have all been busy locations Saturday thanks to the Estevan Strippers 38th annual Molson Spring Bust tournament.

The first games started at 9 a.m., and the final games will start at 7:30 p.m. A total of 24 games will be played between the three venues.

This year’s tournament features 40 teams competing in 10 divisions. Champions will be crowned in each division on Sunday.

There will also be a cabaret this evening at the Power Dodge Curling Centre, with Third Degree Birnz performing.

The Strippers tournament is the largest recreation hockey tournament in the province. It is also a fundraiser, as the Strippers donate thousands of dollars each year to a variety of organizations in the Estevan area.

It also brings in players from southern Saskatchewan and western Manitoba, creating a considerable economic spinoff for the region.

The Mercury will continue to have updates on the tournament during the weekend.
