Saskota teams host senior baseball provincials

The Estevan Tap House Wolves, Carlyle Cardinals and Oxbow Chiefs weren’t the only Saskota Baseball League teams involved in provincials last weekend. Carnduff and Redvers hosted the senior AA tier 4 provincials.

The Estevan Tap House Wolves, Carlyle Cardinals and Oxbow Chiefs weren’t the only Saskota Baseball League teams involved in provincials last weekend.

Carnduff and Redvers hosted the senior AA tier 4 provincials. The Redvers As went 2-1 in the round robin, losing 3-2 to the Shaunavon Badgers and winning 6-3 over the Standard Hill Lakers and 5-2 over the Wilkie Brewers to make it to the semfinal. They won 5-2 over the Gull Lake Greyhounds to reach the final but lost 7-2 to Standard Hill.

The Carnduff Astros went 1-2 in the round robin and weren’t able to make it to the semifinal round. They lost 13-0 to Standard Hill and 4-2 to Wilkie, and won 5-3 over Shaunavon.  

Windthorst hosted the senior AA tier 5 provincials over the weekend and the Kenosee Cubs also took part. The Pirates lost 13-11 to the Kenaston Cubs and 11-5 to the Cubs before a third loss in their round robin, 16-3 to the Macklin Lakers, ended their tournament. The Cubs won 5-1 over Kenaston and lost 7-1 to Macklin but made the playoff round, where they lost 11-2 to the Regina Red Dogs in the semifinal.

Macklin won the tournament with a 15-7 victory over Regina.
