Speedway salutes track champions for 2020

The Estevan Motor Speedway found a way to salute its track champions for 2020 on Sunday with presentations at Murray GM. Drivers received trophies for the track champion, runner-up and rookie of the year in each of the five different classes.

The Estevan Motor Speedway found a way to salute its track champions for 2020 on Sunday with presentations at Murray GM.

Drivers received trophies for the track champion, runner-up and rookie of the year in each of the five different classes.

In the High Energy Performance IMCA hobby stocks, Connor Hansen was the track champion, Kruz Wilson was the runner-up and Kaiden Hjortland was the top rookie.

Leevi Runge was the track champion in the Energy Electric Ltd. IMCA sport mods. Bailey Cousins was the runner-up and Justin Fichter was the top rookie.

In The Floor Store IMCA stock car class, Chris Hortness was the track champion and JJ Barnstable was the runner-up. There wasn’t a top rookie in that class.

Kody Scholpp was the champion in the Kendall’s Supply IMCA modifieds. Les McLenehan was second for the year and Gary Goudy Jr. was named the top rookie.

Finally, in the Goudy Transport sling shots, Ryder Raynard was the track champion, Cash Saxon was the runner-up and Eli Turnbull was the top rookie.

The speedway typically has an awards night celebration and fundraiser in the fall, but they couldn’t do it after the 2020 season due to the pandemic.
