The playoff matchups have been finalized in the Saskota Baseball League.
The Southeast Fireballs, who are based out of Estevan, defeated the Arcola Threshers 7-5 Monday at Lingelbach Field at Mets Stadium, in the play-in game between the eighth and ninth-seeded teams in the league.
The Fireballs will now play the Estevan Tap House Wolves, who were the top-ranked team after the regular season. The first game in that series will be Wednesday night at Lynn Prime Park at 6 p.m., while Game 2 will be Friday night at Mets Stadium at 6:30 p.m.
The other three series will begin Tuesday night. The second-seeded Carlyle Cardinals will play the No. 7 Kipling Royals, with Game 1 in Carlyle, the No. 3 Kenosee Cubs will face the No. 6 Oxbow Chiefs, with Game 1 at Kenosee, and the No. 4 Carnduff Astros will play the fifth-ranked Redvers A’s, with Game 1 in Carnduff.
All of Tuesdays games start at 6:30 p.m.
Game 2 in those three series will be Thursday night, also at 6:30 p.m.
All playoff series in the Saskota playoffs this year will be best-of-three matchups. Dates for the third games, if they are needed, have not been announced.
The Astros are the defending league champions.
