Southeast teams qualify for volleyball provincials

Although the Estevan Comprehensive School Elecs won’t be at high school provincials for girls or boys volleyball this year, several schools from the southeast will be trying to win medals this weekend at either provincials or regionals.

The Arcola Panthers will be heading to Fox Valley for the 1A girls provincials. It’s their second year in a row at provincials and the first time since they were in fourth place in 2007.

The Lampman Grizzlies are going to Carrot River for the 3A girls provincials. Coached by Robin Ulrich, it’s also their first time there in over a decade.

The Carnduff Education Centre Tigers will be making their first appearance at provincials in over a decade when they head to Clavet in 4A girls action.

There will be action in regionals this weekend in 1A, 2A, 3A and 4A boys. Arcola hosts Bellevue, Cowessess, Nakoda Oyade and Annaheim in one of the regionals.

Carnduff is hosting 3A regionals, with Redvers, Harvest City, Kipling, Grenfell, Oxbow, Hudson Bay and Langenburg coming.

Provincials for 1A-4A boys will be Nov. 23-24 weekend, and Carnduff and Oxbow will co-host the 3A boys provincials this year.
