Three young football players who learned to play the game in Estevan have committed to play for the Regina Thunder junior football program later this year.

Two of them are in their Grade 12 year at the Estevan Comprehensive School: wide receiver Nigel Mack and linebacker Brennan Stubel.

Mack and Stubel helped the Elecs to their most successful season in program history in 2019, as they won the Tier 2 final of the Moose Jaw Minor Football League.

Mack was also one of the co-recipients of the Elecs Who Are We/Bryan Illerbrun Memorial Award in 2019.

The other player is Troy Leptich. A graduate of Estevan Comprehensive in 2018, he has spent the past two seasons playing junior football with the Winnipeg Rifles.

The Thunder announced the commitment of the three players on their Facebook page Monday, which is signing day for junior football in Canada.
