The Estevan Comprehensive School Elecs senior boys basketball team picked up a win at Hoopla on Friday morning.
Estevan defeated Saskatoon's Walter Murray Collegiate 74-55 in a consolation round game in Saskatoon. Walter Murray Collegiate has been eliminated from Hoopla.
The Elecs dropped down to the consolation round after a 75-59 loss to Saskatoon St. Joseph Thursday night. St. Joseph is the top-ranked team in the boys 5A division, while the Elecs were the eighth-ranked team.
The 5A division is comprised of Saskatoon and Regina schools, as well as Estevan and Lloydminster.
Estevan's next game will be the consolation round final at 9 a.m. Saturday morning.
Hoopla is the provincial high school basketball championship. The opening games in boys and girls 5A basketball were held Thursday night. This year marks the Elecs first appearance in Hoopla in 25 years.
